Does Branding Really Matter?

“Your brand is what people say about you when you’re not in the room” – Jeff Bezos, Founder of Amazon.

In this period of high technology and an easy access to almost everything through the social media and online network, marketing becomes an almost effortless undertaking for some companies.  But do not be deceived by this trend to be complacent when it comes to establishing your organization’s identity and market positioning otherwise, stiff competition will gobble your company. Appropriate marketing strategy must be developed and implemented by the company in order to sustain competitiveness.

One basic marketing concept that propels success is branding though it is not always easy to achieve it. It is created through accentuating the most desirable qualities of your product or services, consistent reiteration, strong image and added value. In essence, branding is the first step in establishing company’s visual identity by having the ownership of the image, icon or color, and conveys uniqueness and promise to customers. It upholds your offering above the market, generates customer aspiration and loyalty and has prolonged existence. Through branding you are creating a distinctive impression of your product, company or service in customers’ minds. A company website, stationery, logo and slogan all presenting the same images, colors and messages create recognition, familiarity and identity.
